Perception of Beauty:A lady of Multiple limbs

“A prosthetic limb doesn’t represent the need to replace loss, any more… it can stand as a symbol that the wearer has the power to create whatever it is that they want to create in that space… so people that society once considered to be disabled, can now become the architects of their own identities and indeed continue to change those identities by designing their bodies from a place of empowerment.” ~ Aimee Mullins
Let me start with a few images.

Global Search in Ipod touch OS3

One of the cool features of OS3 upgrade I liked was the Global search.
This is enabled by flipping to the left of the left most page.i.e the First page.

When you type any text there it shows the items that match the keyword from notes contacts and other content that has the search word in it .

This is useful to me as i add several notes when I have to note down the info. Before this I had to go through some of the notes to find my jottings but now its just a flip away. This Convenient yet simple feature has made my ipod touch more usable for taking notes in odd places.

Friday Night Comedy on BBC

The News Quiz and The NOW show are combined as a single podcast and I love this show a lot.A heady mix of current world affairs and good old English comedy.Nothing amuses me more than Fridaynight comedy on a monday morning (the reason is it gets downloaded over weekend some time and I save it for Monday mornings to drive the blues away.).Sometimes you need to understand current political happenings in UK to get the jokes,But overall fun to hear.Definitely worth a try .

OS3 upgrade for My Ipod touch

Apple wants me to pay 10 dollars for upgrading my first gen Ipod Touch to OS3.This was necessary to use the features like CUT PASTE or the Improved calender to say the few(These should have been there in the first release..or should have been given free).

But I am not 'Technically challenged' to accede to that ploy.So I set out to upgrade my ipod touch on my own.Well, any one can Do it if they follow the steps.
Step 1:
Back up your Ipod touch first
Step 2:
Download the version of firmware that suits you from the following source
here
Red snow is for jailbreaking its similar to Quickpwn
Step 3:
Upgrade the Ipod touch to the latest firmware.Connect your iPod Touch to the computer and launch iTunes. Select your iPod Touch from the list of devices on the left. Now hold down shift and click the Restore button. Restore is preferred as it won't create any wasted space on your iPod Touch.Navigate to the Pwnage folder on your desktop and select the firmware ipsw. Click the Open button to continue.
Step 4:
Once iTunes has finished updating your iPod Touch to the desired firmware you may launch redsnw0w.exe from the download folder on your desktop.Choose browse in the main window and Select the firmware ipsw we placed in the Pwnage folder on our desktop then click Open.Once the firmware has been verified click the Next button to continue.Make sure Cydia is selected and click the Next button. This will install the Cydia Source. Please plug your iPod Touch into the computer and make sure its OFF then click the Next button.RedSn0w will now guide you through the steps to get into DFU mode.Get through the DFU mode and that will finish your upgrade.

I would post more on the Features that were useful to me in the upgrade .
